Local SEO agency · United States

Local SEO agency for small and Hispanic-owned businesses in the US

Updated:

Rankeo is a local SEO agency that puts small businesses in the Google map pack, in the regular results and in the answers people get from ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. We optimize your Google Business Profile, build the city and service pages Google needs and rank you for searches in English and in Spanish. Every project starts with a free audit and is quoted in USD.

Local SEO

What a local SEO agency does for a small business

A local SEO agency makes your business show up when someone nearby searches for what you sell: in the Google map pack, in the regular results and in AI answers, without paying for each click.

When a homeowner types “plumber near me” or a parent asks their phone for a “pediatric dentist open Saturday,” Google shows a map with three businesses before anything else. Google’s Business Profile Help Center explains that local results are ranked on three factors: relevance, distance and prominence. You can’t move your building closer to every customer, so local SEO works on the two factors you can control: how clearly Google understands what you do, and how much evidence the web offers that customers trust you.

That evidence lives in many places at once: your Google Business Profile, your website, your reviews, your listings on Apple Maps, Bing Places and Yelp, and the local sites that mention you. A local SEO company keeps all of it accurate and consistent, then adds what’s missing: a page for each service and city, answers to the questions customers ask before they call, and a steady flow of new reviews.

Many of the agencies that rank for this search are built for franchises and companies with large marketing departments. Rankeo was built for the owner who runs the business and still answers the phone: a dental office, a law firm, a contractor, a restaurant, a clinic, a salon. You talk directly with the people doing the work, in English or in Spanish.

Bilingual local SEO

Rank for searches in English and in Spanish

Many of your customers search in both languages, sometimes on the same afternoon. We build your local presence so they find you either way.

The U.S. Census Bureau counts more than 65 million Hispanic residents in the country (Vintage 2023 population estimates), and its American Community Survey reports more than 40 million people who speak Spanish at home. Plenty of them search “dentist near me” one day and “dentista cerca de mí” the next. If your site and profile only exist in English, those Spanish searches go to the competitor who took the time to do it right.

Our team is bilingual and based in Mexico, so Spanish is written by native speakers, never pasted in from a translation tool. We research keywords separately in each language, because people don’t search with literal translations. “Abogado de accidentes” and “accident lawyer” have different volumes, different competitors and different questions behind them, so each page is written for the way that audience actually searches.

If you or your team prefer to read in Spanish, we have guides for you en español: SEO para negocios hispanos en Estados Unidos, plus city pages for Houston, Los Angeles and Miami.

  • Separate keyword research for English and Spanish, with real monthly search volume for your city.
  • Spanish service pages on their own URLs, linked with hreflang tags so Google shows the right version.
  • A Google Business Profile with services named the way each group of customers searches for them.
  • Review replies in the language the customer wrote in.
  • Reports in English or Spanish, whichever your team reads.
Services

What our local SEO services include

Small business SEO services built around the map pack, your website and the places where customers check you out before they call.

Google Business Profile optimization is usually where the fastest movement comes from, so that’s where we start. We review your primary and secondary categories (the setting with the most weight in the map pack), fill in every service with a plain description, set accurate hours and attributes, upload real photos of your work and team, and publish posts on a schedule. We also watch the profile for suggested edits from strangers, which can change your phone number or hours without warning.

Then we fix the website so it backs up the profile. Google needs a page that clearly matches each service and each city you want to rank in. A roofing company that serves five suburbs needs more than a single “Service Areas” list. It needs pages with real local details: the neighborhoods you work in, the jobs you have done there, the permits and conditions that are particular to that city.

  • Google Business Profile optimization: categories, services, products, hours, attributes, photos and weekly posts.
  • Reviews: a simple request flow by text or WhatsApp and a reply to every review, following Google’s review policies (no paid or filtered reviews).
  • City and service pages: one useful page per service and per city you serve, written for that place.
  • Listings and citations: the same details on Apple Business Connect, Bing Places, Yelp, BBB and the directories in your industry.
  • Technical SEO: speed, mobile, indexing, internal links and LocalBusiness schema.
  • Local content: answers to the questions customers ask before they call, published on your own site.
  • AI answers: clear, consistent facts so ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews can cite you. More on our AI SEO agency page.
Process

Our local SEO process, week by week

The first three months follow the same order for every client, because each step depends on the one before it.

Week 1

Audit and keyword map

We review your profile, site and the businesses that rank in your map pack today. You get a keyword list by service, city and language, with monthly volume.

Week 2

Google Business Profile

Categories, services, photos, hours and description are fixed. If the profile is suspended, duplicated or unverified, this is where we sort it out.

Weeks 3 to 4

Website and technical base

Speed, mobile, indexing and schema. If you have no website, the Website + SEO + GEO project builds one that is ready to rank.

Weeks 5 to 8

City pages, Spanish pages, listings

New service and city pages go live, the Spanish versions follow, and your details are cleaned up across the main directories.

Weeks 9 to 12

Reviews and content

The review request flow is running, every review gets a reply, and we publish answers to the questions your customers search for.

Month 4 onward

Report and adjust

A monthly report, new content, and changes based on what the data shows: which pages and cities are moving and which need more work.

Map pack movement usually starts showing between weeks 4 and 12. Steady organic traffic to the website takes longer, typically between months 3 and 6, and depends on how competitive your city and industry are. We tell you what to expect in the audit, before you pay anything.

Measurement

How we measure local SEO results

Every month you get a report with numbers you can check yourself, in accounts that belong to you.

Google Search Console shows the exact searches that brought people to your site, with clicks, impressions and average position by page. We split English and Spanish queries so you can see both audiences grow.

Google Business Profile Performance shows calls, direction requests, website clicks and the searches people used to find your profile. For many local businesses, calls from the profile matter more than website visits.

Grid rank tracking checks your map position from many points across your service area, using tools such as Local Falcon or BrightLocal. A single ranking from your office tells you little, because a customer three miles away sees a different map.

Bing Webmaster Tools covers the searches that run through Bing, and its AI Performance report shows when your pages are cited in Microsoft Copilot and Bing’s AI answers. Google Analytics 4 tracks forms, calls and WhatsApp clicks, including visits that arrive from ChatGPT or Perplexity.

  • Map pack position by keyword and by area.
  • Calls, direction requests and website clicks from your Google Business Profile.
  • Search Console clicks and positions, split by English and Spanish.
  • New reviews, average rating and response rate.
  • Leads: form submissions, calls and WhatsApp messages.
  • What we did this month and what comes next.
Who it’s for

Who our local SEO company works with

Local businesses where customers search, compare and call within the same hour.

Local SEO pays off fastest when one new customer is worth a lot, or when people come back for years. That describes most of the businesses we work with. It also works for service-area businesses that don’t have a storefront, like contractors, cleaners or mobile mechanics. Google lets you hide your address and show a service area instead, and we build city pages around that area.

If you have several locations, each one gets its own profile, its own page and its own place in the report.

  • Dentists, clinics and med spas that need new patients every month.
  • Law firms: immigration, personal injury, family and criminal defense.
  • Home services and contractors: roofing, plumbing, HVAC, remodeling, landscaping.
  • Restaurants, bakeries and food trucks that live on “near me” searches.
  • Salons, gyms and studios with recurring customers.
  • Professional services: accountants, tax preparers, insurance agents, realtors.
  • Hispanic-owned businesses that serve customers in both languages.
Pricing

What local SEO costs with Rankeo

We quote every U.S. project in USD after your free audit, so the price fits your city, your competition and what you already have in place.

The price depends on how many locations, cities and services you want to rank for, whether you need a new website or Spanish pages, and how crowded your map pack is. A family dentist in a small town and a personal injury firm in Houston are very different projects.

That’s why we quote after the audit and not before. The audit is free, comes with no obligation and doesn’t require a credit card. You get the diagnosis, the keyword map and a fixed price in USD, and you decide from there. You can see what each format includes on our pricing section, or request your free audit now.

  • Website + SEO + GEO: a one-time project for businesses that need a new site ready for Google, the map pack and AI search.
  • Authority: a one-time project with pages for each service and city, a blog and competitor analysis.
  • Monthly SEO + GEO: profile, reviews, new content, rank tracking and a monthly report. Six-month minimum.
Before you hire

How to choose a local SEO company

Ask for proof you can check yourself: a diagnosis of your own profile, keyword data with a source and a written monthly plan.

“Best local SEO agency” lists are useful for finding names, but many of them are paid placements. Compare agencies on what they will show you before you sign. A serious local SEO company can tell you which keywords it would target, how many people search them each month in your city and who is ranking for them now.

Be careful with anyone who guarantees the number one spot in the map pack. Google says plainly that nobody can guarantee a ranking, and the map changes depending on where the searcher stands. Also make sure you own your Google Business Profile. An agency should be added as a manager, never as the primary owner, so you keep the profile if you ever part ways.

  • Can you show me the keywords you’d target and their monthly volume in my city?
  • What exactly gets done each month, and who does it?
  • Will I own my Google Business Profile, website and content?
  • Does the report show calls and leads, not only impressions?
  • Is there a minimum term, and what happens if I cancel?

FAQ

Local SEO questions we hear most

What does a local SEO agency do?

A local SEO agency gets your business into the Google map pack and the local organic results for searches near you. That means optimizing your Google Business Profile, building service and city pages on your website, getting more reviews, keeping your listings consistent and measuring calls and leads every month.

How much does local SEO cost for a small business?

It depends on how many locations, cities and services you want to rank for, whether you need a new website and how competitive your market is. Rankeo quotes every U.S. project in USD after a free audit, so you get a fixed price based on your actual situation.

How long does local SEO take to work?

Changes to your Google Business Profile can show up in the map pack within 4 to 12 weeks. Steady organic traffic to your website usually takes 3 to 6 months. Crowded markets, like personal injury law in a large city, take longer.

What is Google Business Profile optimization?

It’s the work of making your free Google listing as complete and accurate as possible: the right primary and secondary categories, every service described, correct hours, real photos, regular posts and replies to reviews. Categories and reviews have the biggest effect on where you show up in Google Maps.

Can you rank my business for Spanish searches too?

Yes. Our team is bilingual, so we research Spanish keywords separately, write Spanish pages with their own URLs and connect them to the English versions with hreflang tags. Many customers search in both languages, and Spanish results are often less crowded.

Do I need a website for local SEO?

You can show up in Google Maps with only a Google Business Profile, but a website gives Google much more to work with and lets you rank for each service and city. If you don’t have one, our Website + SEO + GEO project builds it.

Is local SEO worth it for a small business?

For most businesses that serve a specific area, yes. People who search for a service near them usually want to hire soon, and you don’t pay for each click. Local SEO builds over time and keeps working when you stop spending, unlike ads.

What are the most important local ranking factors?

Google says local results are based on relevance, distance and prominence. In practice that means your profile categories and services, how close the searcher is, and how well known you are: reviews, links, mentions on other sites and your position in regular search results.

Do you work with service-area businesses that have no storefront?

Yes. Contractors, cleaners, movers and other businesses that go to the customer can hide their address on Google and show a service area instead. We build city pages for that area and track your map position in each part of it.

Do you work with businesses anywhere in the United States?

Yes. We work remotely with businesses across the U.S. and Mexico, by video call, email and WhatsApp. Most of our U.S. clients serve both English- and Spanish-speaking customers.
